Advantages of Cloud Environments

Cloud environments allow companies to store, access and share data on demand, and with the widest range of devices. This lets employees work remotely and not lose productivity. It also allows organizations to expand their computing capabilities quickly and efficiently for long-term or seasonal business growth.

Cloud computing models offer variety of security benefits, including backup and restoration of data that are essential for companies. They also make it easier for IT teams to upgrade software and deploy applications to remote devices, without relying on USB drives or multiple CDs.

Cloud environments can be hosted on a private server on premises, in an external datacenter or on the infrastructure of major public cloud providers. This lets users reduce the initial costs and budgets by transferring IT infrastructure and services into a pay-as you-go model.

One of the major benefits of cloud-based environments is the conversion of capital expenditures into operational expenses. In traditional IT setting, the cost of purchasing equipment and infrastructure to implement a project is huge in terms of capital budget. In a cloud-based environment, equipment is rented out as a service. Typically, only the operational budget of an organization needs to be approved.

Technology companies and the IT community are working on an idea-based framework that will allow hardware root of trust measurements to be integrated into adjacent hypervisors and virtualization management software, and tools for data analysis as well as governance risk and compliance (GRC) consoles. This will place the circumstances at the lowest level of cloud’s virtualization as well as hardware layers, to provide an accurate evaluation of its security measures.
